Frederick "Fred" Charles Wust Sr.'s Obituary
Frederick “Fred” Charles Wust Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022. He was born in New Orleans, LA on September 21, 1931 to Yolanda Hebert Wust and Frederick Wust.
Fred is survived by his daughters, Paulette Blow (Phillip), Patty Frederick (Chuck), Susan Nordin (Nathan), Cindy Graham (Murray), Charlene Peoples, Valerie Wust, and son, Frederick Wust Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Marcus, Steven (Ashley), Lisa, Brandon, Ashley, Stephanie, Trey (Kelsey), Patrick, Peyton, Logan, Megan, Brittany, Taylor, Emily, Abigail and great grandchildren, Ethan, Ciara and Grayson.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marguerite Wust Klotz and granddaughter, Danielle Wust.
Fred graduated from St Joseph’s and worked at his father’s construction company as a carpenter. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1950 and was honorably discharged. Fred returned to New Orleans and began his thirty-year career with South Central Bell. After his retirement he founded Future Telephone Systems in 1984.
Fred enjoyed many hobbies in his life. His first love was for animals, in particular snakes. He also raised fish, birds, and many different kinds of animals. Fred’s greatest pleasure and hobby was diving. He was a member of the Bajaos Skin Divers in 1957.
Fred, you never left a room empty. And you never left it the same. Your hugs were genuine. Your laughter hilarious! Your anger fierce! Your love, sincere. But, the most valuable thing we all possess and can never get back, your “time.” As he always said, “Time is the most valuable thing we can give to anyone.”
Relatives and Friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433, on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA.
