Fred Mead Baker, Jr., 84, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2008.
Beloved husband of Angela Moynan Bose Baker; loving father to Michael Baker and his wife Kathleen Benoit Gazzo Baker, Thomas Nelson Baker and his wife Diane Marie Luccia and the late Emilie Jean B. Carney; step-father to Marian Bose Tuck, Dorothy Bose Sleezer, Susan Bose Murray and the late Alan Robert Bose; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Marie Shepard Baker; granddaughter, Patricia Carney; sister, Geraldine Wild Adams; mother, Jeannete Rose Blackette Baker; and father, Fred Mead Baker, Sr.
He was a native of Detroit, Michigan, a resident of New Orleans, LA, and a former resident of Covington, LA. A United States Navy Veteran, he served during World War II. He worked as a Metallurgist with Avondale Shipyard Service Foundry for many years. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Pontchartrain Yacht Club.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at The Chapel of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Center, 1100 Broadway Street, New Orleans, LA 70118.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time.
Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 West 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433.
