Frank Morris Ritchie, Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Morris Ritchie Jr., at the age of 86, entered eternal rest peacefully Monday, March 27, 2023, at North Oaks Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 29, 1936, to Frank Morris Ritchie Sr. and Mildred Joachim Ritchie.
He is survived by his adoring children Elizabeth “Liz” Ritchie Burford (Roger), John Patrick Ritchie (Pat), Anne Ritchie Borne (Dennis), and Frank Stephen Ritchie. Frank was the proud grandfather of Mary Kate, John, and Robert Ritchie, Alexis (Brady), Kathleen, Emily, Victoria, Ethan, and Joseph Borne, Andrew and Ryan Ritchie, Three loving Sisters-in-Law and 4 Brothers-in-Law. He will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife Therese McNeill Ritchie, his parents Frank and Mildred Ritchie, and his brother Gerald Ritchie.
A native of Houma, lifelong resident of Metairie for 60 years, Frank graduated from Terrebonne High School, in Houma, Louisiana. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Physical Geography at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. On March 19, 1961, Frank proudly joined the United States Army, was honorably discharged from his outstanding service on January 22, 1967. Frank was a Louisiana Landman at L.L. & E of New Orleans for over 25 years. Frank was a parishioner at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Metairie, Louisiana.
Frank was funny, loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and duck hunting. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family and friends. Frank was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will take place privately at a later time.
