Frank E. Alfonso Jr.'s Obituary
Frank E. Alfonso, Jr., 84 years old, of Covington, LA passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017.
He was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, residing in Covington for the past 12 years. Mr. Alfonso is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Simoneaux Alfonso; children Debra Byrne (Byron), Patricia Loescher (Cliff), and Eric J (Robyn); grandchildren Andrea Melton (Jon), Blake Loescher, Eric Alfonso, Jr and Zach Alfonso, and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Joan Marie Alfonso Thoulion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Juanita Alfonso, his brother Louis Allament, his brother-in-law Rene Thoulion, and his niece Gina Sevin.
Mr. Alfonso proudly served in the US Army, and retired from American General Insurance Company after 38 years. He was a parishioner of St. Benedict’s Church in Covington, LA.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Road, Covington, LA, 70435 followed by a mass of Christian burial at 2:00 PM.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, in Covington, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mr. Alfonso’s name to the Alzheimer Association of Louisiana.
