Frances Bailey Toney's Obituary
Frances Bailey Toney, resident of Folsom, LA, passed away at the Care Center in Baton Rouge, on Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2010.
She was born in Tangipahoa Parish on January 10th, 1918. Survivors include Vaunice T. Tate, Billy P. Toney and wife, Kathy, 6 grandchildren and spouses, Jackie Tate LaFleur and Mark; Jeanie Tate Murray and Billy; Jeff Tate and Terri; Jimbo Tate and Abby; Bryan Toney and Bambi; and Laura Toney Mott and Jeffrey. She also leaves 12 great grandchildren. She is survived by 2 sisters, Erma Harper and Verna Hoover and a brother Edgar Bailey; brother in law, Lescine Harper and sister in law, Sherry Bailey, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Adnell Toney; a loving son in law, James C. Tate; parents, Lela Willie Bailey and Pierce Bailey; sisters, Beatrice Holliday and Edith Mae Kennard; and a brother, Pierce Bailey, Jr.
She worked 25 years at the St. Tammany Parish Hospital and retired in 1986 as a Nurses Aide.
Funeral services will be held on January 9th, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Folsom, with visitation from 8:30 a.m. until religious services, with burial immediately following in the Church Cemetery. Religious services will be conducted by Dr. Kenneth Sterling of New Zion Baptist Church and Rev. Tommy Hicks with Generations Hospice. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
