Frances Rae Lee Saurage's Obituary
Frances Rae Lee Saurage at the age of 85, entered eternal rest peacefully on the evening of July 19, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Folsom, Louisiana on February 3, 1937 to Charlie Lee of Folsom and Cassan Thompson Lee of Folsom.
She was the beloved companion of Paul Poolson for 25 wonderful years, the devoted mother of her adoring daughter, Charlotte Saurage Miller and loving son, Gregory J. Saurage. Frances was the proud grandmother of Frances Saurage (Stephen), Cassie DuBose (Bryant), Daniel Saurage (EJ), Jake Saurage, Reiss Saurage, Alicia Welty Matthews (Matt), Stacy Welty Owens (Jacob), Brittney Brewster, Noah Poolson, Ava Johnson and Sarah Johnson; and devoted great grandmother of Lindsey, Trey, Noelle, Gabrielle, Jacob Jr., Jaxon, Ozzy and Liam. She was the caring and extended mom of Tina Johnson (Rusty), John Poolson (Amy), and Kelly Poolson. She is also survived by host nieces, nephews, and the best lifelong friends.
Frances is preceded in death by her loving husband Leslie Buddy Saurage, her parents Charlie and Cassan Lee, and her sisters I. D. Lee Roberts and Dorothy Lee, and her brothers Newton Toney and Leroy Toney.
A native of Metairie for 15 years, and proudest longtime resident of Folsom, Frances, graduated from Loranger High School. After high school, she began and truly enjoyed her professional career as Real Estate Agent for over 20 years. Frances was a lifelong active member to Lee Hill Baptist Church, and member to Women’s Association of Northshore Democrats.
Frances was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She loved to travel, but her true passion was spending time with her loving family and church family. Frances was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.

All relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, 70433 on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM with service beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow service at the Rainey Cemetery 10376 St. John Church Road, Folsom, Louisiana 70437. Services officiated by Rev. Ronald Douglas.
