Frances Annelle Morton Greenwell's Obituary
Frances Annelle Morton Greenwell passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Covington, Louisiana surrounded by her loving family. Annelle was born on June 22, 1949 in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Rudolph Morton and Anne Cone Morton. She later moved to Newport News, Virginia where she met her beloved husband, Raymond B. Greenwell. Annelle and Ray were happily married for nearly 48 years. Annelle was a sister to four brothers; Kevin Morton, Larry Morton, the late Bobby Morton, and Wayne Morton.
Annelle was characterized by her contagious smile, positive attitude and selfless service to others. She loved the outdoors, animals, playing cards and games with her grandchildren, cooking, and had a keen eye for interior design. Everything Annelle did she did with grace and elegance, whether it be on a tennis court, a dance floor, or spending quality time at home with her family. She faced a great deal of adversity, especially later in life, but did so with an extreme amount of strength, fortitude and courage. Her kind and gentle soul and strong zest for life will be missed by all that knew her.
