Floyd "Bobe" Parker's Obituary
Floyd “Bobe” Parker passed away on January 20, 2021 in New Orleans, LA. He was born on May 9, 1932 in Mandeville, LA to the late William A. Parker and Luttritia Davis Parker.
Bobe was the beloved husband of Sybil Wilson Parker for 63 years. He was the loving father of Chris D. Parker and Lisa G. Parker. Bobe was the proud grandfather of Parker W. Henry. Bobe will also be dearly missed by his sister-in-law, Tina Wilson Head (Dennis). Bobe was the brother of the late Hezzie Parker, Myrtie Mae Parker Nation, Rita Parker Cornet, Dr. Clea Parker, Guy D. Parker, and Louise Parker Mancino. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bobe will always be remembered as having an outgoing personality. He was definitely a people-person, and never met a stranger.
Throughout the years, Bobe was involved with St. Paul’s Athletic Association; working the picnics and fundraisers.
He and Sybil enjoyed camping and traveling with family and friends. For many years, they were members of the Tammany Sams Camping Club, where many lasting friendships were made.
For decades, Bobe and many of his Mandeville High buddies (and even a few of his Covington High guys) would get together every Saturday for breakfast. Enjoying coffee and “shooting the breeze.”
Bobe also loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
