Floyd “Glen” Hopkins III Obituary Floyd Glen Hopkins III passed away on June 21, 2019 at the age of 54, after several years of severe health issues. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife and daughter, Rhonda King Hopkins and Kellianna Hopkins. He is preceded in death by his father Floyd G. Hopkins Jr. and his mother Sue Brewington Hopkins. Glen was the brother-in-law to Jay King (deceased), Eric King, Joey and Susan King, and Karla King and Robert Sherman and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a friend to many, many people who will miss him and his phone calls to catch up on life. Glen was a lifetime resident of Covington and the owner of Hopkins Propeller Services, LLC. He grew up in the propeller business, learning under his father’s guidance and driving and racing boats since he was 6 years old. His propeller work has been recognized worldwide for the precision and wisdom he brought to the mechanics of propeller engineering. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave. Covington, LA 70433 of which Glen was a lifelong member. Visitation on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 11:00 AM to service time.
After the mass, a celebration gathering will take place at the Mulligan family home.
In lieu of flowers, a FB fundraiser account has been set up by Sherry Cottrell McDonald on GoFundMe.com titled “Please Help Rhonda”. This is to help offset major medical expenses due to several years of necessary medical procedures for Glen. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to those who have helped the family during very difficult times - Terrie Mulligan, Greg Galloway, Howard Pitre, Hardy Rogers, Woody Helton, Eric King, Joey King, Karla King and Robert Sherman and many others.
