Flora Schindler Schech sadly passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, in Covington, Louisiana, after being relocated from Texas a few years ago to be cared for by her family. Born on November 16, 1935, she was 88 years young.
She was the wife of the late Arthur Victor Schech.
She was the only child of the late Raymond Schindler and Thelma Ziegan Schindler Rouse, whose birthday was also July 18th.

Flora worked as a schoolteacher her entire career, teaching full-time during the school year while also regularly teaching night classes and summer school. She began teaching in the early 1960's after graduating from Southeastern University.
In 1967, Flora started teaching at the then-newly built John F. Kennedy Senior High School in New Orleans, where she worked until roughly 1985, when she retired from the New Orleans Public School System. During this time, she earned a master’s degree +30 from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.
In 1986, Flora moved to Texas and continued teaching, which she loved to do, until she retired again, many years later, from the Texas Public School System.
She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed!
