Everett Joseph Brugier's Obituary
Everett Joseph “E.J.” Brugier died in the early morning hours of August 19, 2018. He was born on December 30, 1932 in New Orleans to Everett Brugier, Sr. and Mildred Sutton Brugier.
E.J. is survived by his wife of 61 years Carol; his son, Larry; his daughters Tori and Pam; his grandchildren Christina, Joey, Jon, Annie (Moses), Erica, and Tim; and four great-grandchildren.
E.J. graduated from St. Aloysius High School and joined the Air Force. While in the Air Force he spent time in Texas, Colorado, and Alaska. After his discharge he attended LSU and Tulane and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Commercial Science. He started a 30 year career with State Farm Insurance as an agent in 1966. Promoted to manager in 1968, he hired many agents who he trained and guided for their success. By 1977, he had received three more promotions and became Deputy Regional VP in Westlake California where he retired in 1996. While working for State Farm, he and Carol travelled to many countries. E.J.’s lust for life was always evident. He became a pilot and was an excellent fisherman and golfer. He always had a boat for fishing or visiting the Channel Islands off the Santa Barbara Coast. E.J. and Carol would live on their boat in La Paz, Mexico for 6 months every year. He was a loving husband and a proud father. He will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd., St. Benedict, LA 70457 on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 1:30 PM followed by a celebration of E.J.’s life at Christwood.
