Eunice McGilvra Rusch's Obituary
Eunice McGilvra Rusch, 85, a retired chemist and homemaker, died on March 22, 2010.  She was born on November 11, 1924 in Elroy, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Baraboo High School and at the University of Wisconsin was the only female chemistry graduate in the Class of 1946. After graduation, she was an organic chemist with Pittsburgh Plate Glass and a model for Evinrude Outboard Motors, Link-Belt Equipment and Pittsburgh Plastics.  In 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, John H. Rusch, Jr. and they moved to New Orleans.  In New Orleans, she was an organic chemist with the USDA Southern Regional Research Lab.
She was a member of the St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church; President of the P.E.O., Chapter “Q”; President of the Lady Golfers Association of Metairie County Club; and President of the St. Martin’s Mother’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents Esther Alwin McGilvra and Lawrence D. McGilvra.  She is survived by her husband John H. Rusch, Jr.; and four children, David William Rusch (Donna), Richard Lawrence Rusch (Louise), James Allen Rusch (Catherine) and Nancy Rusch Wenzel (Clinton).  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robert William Rusch, Margaret Reed Rusch, Christopher David Smelt, Justina Simmons Rusch, Robert Creswell Rusch, John Clinton Wenzel IV, and Lauren Rusch Wenzel.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend her Memorial Services at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4375 Highway 22 in Mandeville, on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 1:00 PM. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until service time.
Internment will be private.
