Ernest A. Perrin Jr.'s Obituary
Ernest “Ernie” Perrin, Jr. passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 surrounded by family at his home in Covington, LA. He was born on July 15, 1934 in Panama City, FL to the late Ernest A. Perrin, Sr. and Delma Smith Perrin.
Ernie was the beloved husband of Joan Rushing Perrin for 59 years. He was the loving father of daughters, Kim Perrin Fisher (Lonnie) and Karen. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Paul Perrin. Ernie was the proud grandfather of Cody Huther, Brayden, Bryce, and Juliana Fisher, and Jensen, Kristen, and Logan Anderson.; great-grandfather of Nadiah and Lex. Ernie will also be dearly missed by his son-in-law, Ethan Anderson. He was the brother of the late Dorothy “Dot” Bennett and brother-in-law, Eddie Bennett.
Ernie proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was sent to Fort Bliss for Basic Training. He was trained as a Medical Technologist at Brook Army Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Ernie served in active duty at a 500-bed Army Hospital in Neubrecke Germany aiding the men and women of all branches of the military. He spent 4 years of his early career as the head of the laboratory at St. Tammany Parish Hospital then moved on to the Tulane National Primate Research Center, where retired after 37 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service at The Chapel at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Rd., Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
