Ernest “Bubby” Joseph Griffin, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
Beloved father of Ernest Joseph Griffin, Jr. (Renae); loving grandfather of Michael Griffin (Elizabeth) and Ernest Griffin, III; great-grandfather of Ethan Griffin and Ashley Griffin; and brother of Juanita Griffin Boyd. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Delores Griffin; mother, Laura Marie Guttierrez Griffin; father, William Allen Griffin; two brothers, William J. Griffin and Walter A. Griffin; and seven sisters, Laura Ann Griffin, Zoe M. Griffin, Mary M. Griffin, Agnes Marie Griffin, Martha Griffin, Inez C. Griffin and Lucille J. Griffin.
Age 95 years, he was native and lifelong resident of Mandeville, LA. Bubby was an accomplished draftsman and graduate of Delgado Trade School. He was employed at Delta Shipyard as a ship building foreman during World War II. He later retired with New Orleans Public Service. He touched so many people’s lives with his wonderful sense of humor and his inspiring stories of the many experiences he had throughout his life.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, LA 70448 on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
Visitation AT THE CHURCH will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Mandeville Cemetery.
