I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Eric. An obvious given and self-sacrificing person. His giving spirit did not go unnoticed.
May you draw comfort among family, friends and God's word the bible. Isaiah 66: 12, 13 states, "This is what Jehovah says: . . . ‘As a mother comforts her son, so I will keep comforting you.’ ”

To the Gustafson Family, we are sorry for your loss. We also pray that someone stands up to fill the duties and honor Eric gave to his firefighter position and community.

We added Eric Charles Gustafson to the St Patrick's Remembrance Book that sits on the altar during the Requiem Mass offered at St John the Baptist every second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm, with a Scriptural Sorrowful Rosary prayed starting at 6:30 pm.

The Requiem Mass is offered for the Poor Souls who have passed on before us. We all pray Eric is in Heaven, but in case he isn't, we need to pray for him since it is our duty to pray for those who have passed on.

Many Saints have said we should continue to have discussions with those we love that have passed on because they can hear the love in our hearts.

In case you are not able to attend our monthly Requiem Mass, please, before Mass begins, ask God to accept that Mass on behalf of Eric. Now is the best time to show your love.

Eric Gustafson.....so many great memories from our youth. I had the honor of going to grammar school with Eric from Kindergarten -on until he left to go to Brother Martin. I was again blessed to have Eric's BIG SIS Lori as my "BIG SIS" at our Alma Mater, St. Mary's Dominican High School in New Orleans. Such a great family!!! ... loved SO much by SO MANY! Eric and I share a special bond: as My First "Boyfriend" ... from K - 3rd grade ... :-) . Such a loving, giving soul. You will be missed but never forgotten. A special place in my heart always!!! Rest in Peace my dear friend!!! XOXO
