Emogene M. Palmisano Menendez's Obituary
Emogene M. Palmisano Menendez, age 93, entered eternal rest peacefully on Monday evening, January 1, 2024, at her family home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Edinburgh, Texas, on March 26, 1930, to Joseph and Cloteel Shields Palmisano.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda Menendez Gregson (Raymond), Francis Menendez Jr. (Karen), David Menendez (Benita), and Darrin Menendez (Valerie); 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as her sister, Melba Richard. Emogene will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends, whom she dearly loved.
Emogene was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Francis Antonio Menendez Sr., her parents Joseph Palmisano and Cloteel Shields Palmisano, her brother Vernon C. Palmisano and her granddaughter Jennifer Menendez Walle.
A native of Edinburgh, Texas, and proud resident of Covington for the last 25 years, Emogene graduated from Jefferson High School, Jefferson, LA. Emogene was an outstanding homemaker to her loving husband and children. She was a devout member of St. Jane de Chantel church.
Emogene was a loving, caring person. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening. However, her true passion was cooking Italian food for her family. Emogene was unique and irreplaceable and will be deeply and dearly missed by all. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Funeral Mass, at St. Jane de Chantel Catholic Church, 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, Louisiana, 70420, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, until service time. Interment will follow mass and take place in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2280 W. 21 St Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433.
