Emery Norton Voorhies' Obituary
Emery Norton Voorhies, age 65, died on Tuesday May 20, 2014 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Norton William Voorhies and Mary Rees Voorhies. He is survived by his wife Jane Hamilton Voorhies , his daughter Harvison Smith Voorhies, his sister Molly Voorhies Gahagan, his brother in-law Bill Gahagan, their 2 children Molly Heurtin and Wiley Gahagan. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Emery graduated from the University of Mississippi and was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and received his Juris Doctorate from the Loyola School of Law. He practiced law in Covington, La, for many years.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Visitation is at 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
