Elton F. Lagarrigue, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
Beloved father of Angel Hahn, Shantel Caston and Richard Lagarrigue (Heather). Brother of Reynolds E. Sheasby (Pemmie) and Ellen L. Auer (Gary). Son of the late Zoe and Elton Lagarrigue, Sr. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Age 62 years. A native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He was the founder and drummer of The Spades and recently inducted into the Louisiana Musician Hall of Fame. A member of the Krewe of Endymion for the past 31 years. He retired from the Orleans Clerk and Checkers Local 1497 and worked for the St. Bernard, Plaquemines Parish and Hancock County Sheriff’s offices. A special thanks to Monica and John Hazen for their loving care and devotion.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Posse, 1080 Woodland Hwy., Belle Chase, LA 70037.
