Elmire "MeMe' Begovich Norman's Obituary
Elmire Begovich Norman affectionately known as “MeMe”, at the age of 75, entered eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2022, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Harvey, Louisiana on September 27, 1947, to Dominick Begovich Sr. and Josephine Territo Begovich.
She is survived by her loving husband Dale David Norman of 54 years, her adoring son Kevin David Norman and daughter-in-law Kelly Dennis Norman. MeMe was the proud grandmother of Brittany Norman Champagne (Spencer), Brandon David Norman (Tori) and Dominique Claire Wetzel and devoted great grandmother of Chance, Colton, Connor, Slade, Cheyenne, Macie, Tommy and Brendon. She was the caring sibling of Dominick Begovich Jr. (Jean). MeMe is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
MeMe was preceded in death by her daughter Nicole Norman Wetzel, parents Dominick and Josephine Begovich Sr., and sister Joan Emily Begovich Cheramie.
A native of Marrero, longtime resident of Mandeville for over 29 years, MeMe, graduated from Immaculata High School, in Marrero. After high school she attended business classes at Delgado Community College. MeMe began her professional banking career for Guaranty Bank in Marrero for over 20 years. MeMe was a devoted parishioner to Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church of Mandeville. She was also a lifelong member to Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church of Marrero.
MeMe was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, camping and gardening. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and friends. MeMe was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memoires of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the funeral mass in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433.
