Farewell, not goodbye, for I know we will meet again. I first met Elmire while teaching at Shaw Elementary School when she returned from maternity leave with stories and precious pictures of her son, Daniel -- and you, also, Connie -- both of whom no mother could have been more proud. I was privileged to teach Daniel in kindergarten at the Primary School while on temporary leave from Shaw. When I returned to Shaw, Elmire was administrative assistant and I have so many memories of the professional yet kindly way in which she dealt with that quite complex position. The teaching profession was fortunate to have her. Your family is one of the most blessed as she was so devoted and so loved each of you. My sympathy and prayers are with all of you.
