Elmida M. Geauthreaux's Obituary
Elmida M. Geauthreaux, age 86, of Mandeville, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026. She was born on August 20, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is predeceased by her late husband, Ronald H. Geauthreaux.
She is survived by three children, Rhona Garcia, Danette Geauthreaux, and Troy Geauthreaux; grandchildren, Erica Foto, Shea Creel, Gabriela Garcia, Henry Geauthreaux, and Madeleine Geauthreaux; and great-grandchildren, Katelynne, Carter, and Elijah. She is also survived by her many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Rome Sr. and Clotile L. Rome; and her brother, Ernest Rome Jr.
Elmida was a dedicated catholic and loyal parishioner of Prince of Peace in Chalmette, Louisiana, and Our Lady of the Lake in Mandeville, Louisiana, having been awarded Family of the Year of both church parishes several times. She was also honored as Sister of the Year by the Archbishop Rummel Kaycee Auxiliary, past President of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church Socialites, and long-time member of the Our Lady of the Lake Altar Society.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a mass beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will be on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Mandeville Cemetery, 1609 Montgomery Street, Mandeville, Louisiana.
