Elliot Carl Schehr, Jr.'s Obituary
Elliot Carl Schehr, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026 in Covington, La, at the age of 84. A native of New Orleans, La, Elliot enjoyed a career as a graphic designer before retiring and later settling in Ponchatoula, La.
Elliot was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Elliot was an avid Saints fan who never missed a game. He also enjoyed spending time playing cards or dominoes with family and friends, often with a good cup of coffee in hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliot Carl Schehr, Sr. and Claydia Bishop Schehr, and his sister Faye Gaudet.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Phyllis Caruso Schehr; his four sons, Michael Schehr (Stacey), Steven Schehr (Kim), Brian Schehr, and David Schehr (Suzanne); his eight grandchildren, Randilynn, Stephanie, Katelyn, Bailey, Amanda, Scott, Ethan, and Owen; and his ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Keith Schehr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, La. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with services to follow at 11 am.
