Elleonora Moss Perrilliat McWilliams' Obituary
Elleonora Moss Perrilliat McWilliams was born August 22, 1923 in New Orleans, LA. The daughter of Elleonora Moss Garland and Paul Felix Perrilliat. She was married for 54 years to the late W. K. McWilliams, Jr. Survived by one sister, Felice Perrilliat Seavey; six children, Penny McWilliams Doster, David K. McWilliams, Jennifer McWilliams Cantrelle, Paul C. McWilliams, Patrick T. McWilliams and Rebecca McWilliams Giveans, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A 1944 graduate of Newcomb School of Music, she served as the president of the student body. She received the coveted 1909 award for citizenship as a senior, which is the highest graduating honor awarded at Newcomb. She was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity. She was a member of First Methodist Church of New Orleans, LA where she was married. Mrs. McWilliams was instrumental in formulating the New Orleans Geological Auxiliary and went on to become its president. She moved to the Northshore in 1958, where she and her husband were among the founders of Tchefuncta Club Estates. She joined the First Southern Methodist Church of Covington, where she played piano, taught Sunday school and was Chairperson of the WSCS for many years. She served as president of the Covington High School PTA for two years and symphony chairperson for several years. Recently, Mrs. McWilliams has served as a member of the Newcomb Dance Club and the Newcomb Dean’s Advisory Council. A private family service will be held as requested by decedent. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial remembrances are sent to the West St. Tammany HOST for Hospice, 1202 S. Tyler St., Covington, LA 70433.
