Elizabeth Dianne Wager Newman's Obituary
Elizabeth Dianne Wager Newman of Madisonville, LA passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018, at the age of 48 years old, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born on October 15, 1969 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA to her loving parents, Fenard H. Wager and Shirley Herrin Wager, of Madisonville, LA. She was the granddaughter to the late Marshall H. Wager and Ethel M. Sharp Wager and to the late Robert Herrin and Ruby McGuire. Elizabeth was best known as Dianne and was a native and life-long resident of Madisonville, LA.
Dianne is survived by her husband of 23 years, Roger Dale Newman; her 4 children, Corey Newman (Lisa), Larry Newman (Quinn), Christopher Newman, and Samantha Newman (Dustin); her 8 grandchildren, Emma and Callum Perry, Hayden and Aubrey Newman, Isabella and Brantley Gray, and Ella and Lila Newman; her sister, Cheryl Wager; niece, Sharon Schech (Mike); nephews, Eric Schech (April) and Gary Schech (Anna); great-niece, Katelyn Schech and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dianne graduated from Covington High School. She served her life as a full-time wife, mom, daughter, sister, Maw-Maw, aunt, and friend. She had a deep love for her family.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Jay Saux and his associates, the staff at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, the staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, and the staff at St. Tammany Parish Hospice, especially, her nurse, Rachel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM with visitation from 8:15 AM until service time. Burial will take place at Wager Cemetery on Wager Cemetery Rd. in Madisonville, LA. Afterwards, there will be a luncheon at the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church of Madisonville on Hwy 22.
