She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rosemarie Novak Strohmeyer, Sr., and Alexander Henry Greenwald, and her oldest brother Daniel Greenwald.
While in high school Liz started working for Dr. James Bradford in Covington, LA and continued working for him for 23 years. After leaving Dr. Bradford’s she worked for St. Tammany Physicians Network where she worked for 15 years until she became ill. Liz was a very loyal dedicated employee who treated all her peers with the greatest respect.
Liz was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 40+ years. She was one of the most humble, loving, servants to ALL ages, a true behind-the-scenes worker, never wanting any more than to serve the Lord and others. Liz gave of herself always, teaching Sunday school for 30+ years, the younger age group first, and then for many years the 5th & 6th grades, in which she willingly prepared them for Confirmation. She put up bulletin boards outside of the Sunday school rooms for the children to place pictures or express what they were experiencing during Sunday school. You see, Liz loved children and encouraged them by letting them tell their own stories. Liz also served the youth through helping with fundraisers, going on youth trips and retreats, and, of course, mentoring them in her sweet, gentle way.
She was also a servant to adults: teaching the Bethel Bible Study and being active in phone ministry. She served on the Fellowship Board, and was also involved in Midweek (she cooked anytime there was a need), Altar Care, Care Ministry, and being a greeter and an usher. Liz went on several mission trips with Pastor Ray Scheer for Lutheran Hour Ministries, where she was able to help others out of the United States in her own special way.
Wherever there was a need, Liz was usually there from small services to major involvement. So many people of all ages were blessed by her servant heart and love for others. Because of her faith and devotion to her Savior and Lord, she was an inspiration to those around her. Well done, good and faithful servant!
She will be missed not only by her family, but also her church family, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.
