Elizabeth "Loretta" Landry's Obituary
Elizabeth "Loretta" Landry was the best person in the world.
She was born in Ville Platte, La to Curtis Fontenot and Marie Ortego.
She is predeceased by her husband, Clark Landry. Also by her brother, Francis Fontenot and her sisters, Anne Bordeleon and Estelle Hoskinson.
She is survived by her 2 sisters: Rosarina Eichler and Shirley Fontenot.
She is also survived by her loving children Yvonne Landry and Michael Landry with their spouses John Lavis and Lesley Landry.
She was the proud grandmother to 5 grandchildren whom she adored: Savannah Thomas, Evangeline Landry-Lavis, Charles Landry, Claiborne Landry-Lavis, and Elizabeth Landry.
She was an incredible teacher who taught at many different schools including Resurrection of Our Lord in New Orleans East and Arabi Elementary and Carolyn Park in Arabi.
She was the best mother and grandmother that anyone could have ever asked for. She was self-sacrificing above and beyond what could have ever been expected. She helped to raise babies, she taught grandchildren to read. She was the strongest person we've ever met. She was every student's favorite teacher and every doctor's favorite patient.
She was living in Lagrange, Ga with her daughter at the time of her death but New Orleans had her heart.
She will be missed more than words can say.
