Elizabeth Quinn Drury's Obituary
Betty Drury, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away April 23, 2008 from liver cancer in LaGrange, Georgia.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Stepahnie D. Hall, her children, Betsy D. Kourkounis of Ocean Springs, MS, Jim Drury of New Orleans, LA, Marc Drury of Los Angeles, CA, Tom Drury of LaGrange, GA and Maggie Drury of LaGrange, GA, as well as her sister, Patricia Q. Brandon of Bronxville, NY, and her brother, William T. Quinn of Portland, OR. She is also survived by several grandchildren including: Erin Kourkounis, Quinn Kourkounis, Matthew Lewis, Anne Elise Lewis, James Drury Gonsoulin, Andrew Drury, Billy Drury, Tommy Drury, and Lucy Drury.
Betty worked throughout the New Orleans, Covington, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast in a variety of capacities including Medical Technologist, Interior Designer, Marketing Director, and with the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce. She never met a stranger, and everyone who knew her instantly fell in love with her warmth and unique charm. Each and every one of her friends became family to her, and her love for them remained steadfast in her heart throughout her life.
A memorial mass and celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the church at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Rd., Covington, LA 70435.
Visitation will begin 12:30 PM.
Interment will follow mass at Pinecrest Memorial gardens in Covington.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Saint Clare’s Monastery (720 Henry Clay, New Orleans, LA 70118) or NAMI - New Orleans (1538 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70115).
