Elaine Ziegler Cantrell's Obituary
Elaine Ziegler Cantrell, age 96, of Talisheek, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Born on December 18, 1927, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Elaine lived a life marked by devotion to her family and her faith.
Elaine was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her sister, Carol Perry; children, Brenda Zeringue, Cheryl Park, and Gerard Cantrell; grandchildren, Paul Zeringue, Clay Zeringue, Terry Park, Carmel Park Ciko, Michael Park, AnneMarie Park Moody, Angele Park Kinberger, Eric Cantrell, Desiree Cantrell Maguire, Cole Cantrell, Sadie Cantrell, and Melissa Cantrell; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Eugene B. Cantrell, Sr.; son, Eugene B. Cantrell, Jr.; parents, Henry E. Ziegler and Elvina Castay Ziegler; and three sisters, Alice Boyle, Audrey Farley and Joyce Lewis.
A faithful attendee of St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church in Abita Springs, Elaine’s commitment to her faith was evidenced by her participation in church activities and community service.
Elaine’s life will be honored and remembered in a manner befitting her deep commitment to her family and her faith. Her legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and devotion will live on through her extensive family and all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple Street, Abita Springs, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana.
