This picture is in Haiti. Uncle Ed was visiting while our parents were missionaries. When we moved back to the US, Uncle Ed owned a convertible! I remember the unfairness of it all, my older brothers Johnny and Frankie got to ride in the cool car, and I couldn't. I got over it, slowly.
Uncle Ed and Marianne drove that convertible to visit us in Salinas, California on their honeymoon. They had a flat tire in a Texas snowstorm, but good Samaritan changed their tire. That's what Uncle Ed has been to so many people over his life, a good Samaritan. He was soft spoken, humble, and always welcoming.
Uncle Ed has always been a part of my life, and we will all miss him so much.
