Edward Denis "Eddie" Villere's Obituary
Edward Denis “Eddie” Villere, age 78, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. He was born on June 19, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kathryn Celestin Villere; children, Ashley Villere Chitwood (Clayton), Edward Micah “Eddie” Villere (Tonia), and Heath Denis Villere; grandchildren, Cole Chitwood, Corbin Chitwood, Caden Chitwood, Edward “Eddie” Villere, Amelie Chitwood, and Hudson Villere; siblings, Donald Villere (Colleen), Ronald Villere (Charmaine), and Keith Villere (Carol); brothers-in-law, Larry Centola, Richard Celestin (Marguerite), and Frank Celestin (Marsha); 13 nieces nephews who affectionately knew him as “Uncle Snowball”; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph “Eddie” Villere and Denise Marie Nicaud Villere; and sister, Denise Villere Centola.
Eddie spent his early childhood in the Lakeview Neighborhood in New Orleans where he attended St. Dominic School. He was a 1964 graduate of St. Paul's School in Covington where he was on the baseball and bowling teams. He also graduated from LSU with a degree in mechanical engineering and earned an MBA from Loyola. A longtime resident of Covington, he was married to Mary Kathryn for almost 56 years. He retired from UNO and was most recently a viral video star. Eddie loved LSU, Covington, and most of all, his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary Street, Madisonville, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana. Attendees are asked to wear LSU attire. A celebration of life tailgate will follow the interment at the home of Heath Villere, 67 Bogue Falaya Drive, Covington, Louisiana.
