Edward C. Miller's Obituary
Edward C. Miller passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at his home in Mandeville, LA. He was born on November 23, 1941 in Steger, IL to the late Edward J Miller and Dorothy A Miller.
He was the loving father to Scott Allen Miller (Cherie) and Christen Miller Lombardo. Ed was the proud grandparent of Ryan Orillion, Breanna Lombardo, Olivia Miller, Mason Miller, Cole Daniel and Austin Daniel and to one great grandchild Maverick Miller. He was the brother of James Miller.
Ed graduated from Southern Illinois University 1964 and was part of the marketing fraternity. The start of his career was with Aetna insurance in the claims department. As his moved up in his career he moved from Illinois, Connecticut, back to Illinois and then finally to Mandeville, LA. After retiring from Aetna in 1995 he decided to continue his knowledge and work with Gilsbar and associates out of Covington, LA for 10 years.
Ed was active his whole life, playing all sports, running 2 marathons, walking daily, fishing, playing cards and playing endless rounds of golf.
Eds love of music was endless, he loved blues, jazz, rock, country, old and new . His CD collection and album collection is amazing.
Ed was an avid sports fan. His life was complete when the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls, New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers and PGA golf.
Ed belonged to Beau Chene Country Club in Mandeville, for 30 years he played golf w/ some amazing men Dave, Bob and Rixby sharing life together. This was dad’s home away from home, being the first to tee off every morning, to Fred, Eddie, Jackie, the starters made him feel so special every morning he teed off.
Ed had some amazing neighbors through the 40 years living in Beau Chene. Neighbors that you share great moments, the endless crawfish boils, LSU games, meeting in the streets thinking they can solve all the world’s problems. Ed walked daily with his beloved dog Mallory, and enjoyed meeting new neighbors and old. Ed was a genuine man that always did the right thing throughout his life.
Ed passed away the way he wanted to go, in his home on his time peacefully.
