Edward Joseph "Eddie" Jacobs' Obituary
Mr. Edward Joseph “Eddie” Jacobs, a beloved resident of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on March 8, 2024, in St. Francisville, Louisiana. He was born on April 23, 1944, in New Orleans.
Mr. Jacobs is survived by his daughter, Ann Jacobs Holloway (Trip); sons, Edward Sean Jacobs (Kelley) and Patrick Hershel Jacobs (Stephanie); along with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Pounds Jacobs; his father, Fred Jacobs; his mother, Bernadine Jacobs; and his brother, Larry Jacobs.
Mr. Jacobs earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Southeastern Louisiana University and dedicated his career to educating generations as a teacher at Folsom Junior High School. His passion and kindness touched countless lives throughout his career.
Mr. Jacobs was longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Covington where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.
A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Jacobs' life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at The Chapel at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Covington Garden Room adjacent to the chapel.
