Truly, I wish that I could have been at the service for Miss Betty! I am beyond sorrowful that she has passed without me acknowledging what a glorious and precious person she was to me! Mrs. Horrell had a profound impact on my life as a domestic engineer. She was the absolute best, funny, loving and endearing person ever. She will be greatly missed.
So sorry to hear about Betty. She was a friend and classmate at CHS and was a great basketball player on our girls’ team. She was always willing to help with the planning of our class reunions. My prayers go out to you, Walter, and your family.
Mrs. Horrell will be deeply missed by all of her former students at Abita Jr High. I learned so much from her in my 3 years of Home-Ec. All things I use everyday. She was a gentle soul with a spunky personality.
