Edith Louise Beard Sanders' Obituary
Edith Louise Beard Sanders passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. She was born in Natchez, MS on October 15, 1943.
She is survived by her son, Robert Frazier (wife Meg) and her granddaughter, Alexandra Frazier. She is also survived by her sister, Muriel Berryhill; her nephew, Gregory Killough (wife Glenda); great-niece, Shelby Van (husband Hank); and great-nephew Greg Killough.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Sanders, Jr.; her parents, Vergia Mae Mullins Beard and Hezzie Kiah Beard; and sister, Marie Beard Wesley.
Louise grew up in her family home in Natchez, MS, graduating from Natchez High School in 1961. She attended Copiah Lincoln Community College, majoring in music, where she met her first husband, Bob Frazier. Their son Rob was born in 1967. Louise worked as a secretary and office manager. In 1975, she married John Sanders.
Together, Louise and John owned a Cruise Planners franchise; Louise truly enjoyed helping her clients find the perfect cruise and shore excursions, and she also truly enjoyed traveling with John on the cruises they took all over the world. Louise and John moved to Metairie, Louisiana in 1985. Following Hurricane Katrina, they moved to the northshore and bought a home around the corner from Rob and Meg in Tallow Creek in Covington.
Louise’s biggest joy was always her granddaughter, Lexy, and her sisters, Marie and Muriel. Together, the three sisters and their junior sidekick took many fun shopping trips and enjoyed time together at the beach or at one another’s homes. Louise was a wonderful cook; she and John spent many happy hours in the kitchen recreating special dishes, like her fantastic spaghetti and meat sauce and Lexy’s favorite pasta shells dish.
Later in life, despite some health issues, Louise loved going to lunch and going shopping with Lexy—well, she loved doing anything with Lexy. She and Lexy attended North Cross Methodist Church, where Louise enjoyed hearing Lexy sing with the choir.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
