Edith Lucille Johnson Latham's Obituary
Edith Lucille Johnson Latham was called to be in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior at the age of 88 on Thursday, August 11, 2016. She was born in Tickfaw, Louisiana on March 5, 1928 to Levador and Quinn Johnson.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 70 years, Loyd E. “Dan” Latham; three children, Lloyd “Gene” Latham (Nancy), Kenneth Latham (Susan), and Elizabeth Ann Lala (Glenn); six grandchildren, Amanda Latham, Emily L. Aucoin (Barrett), Daniel Latham (Shiloh), Travas Lala (Becky), Justin Lala, and Kendall Lala (Maghan); five great-grandchildren, Grace and Micah Aucoin, Alex and Zack Lala, Natalie Lala, and a Latham great-grandchild expected in October.
Edith’s warm spirit and courage during her illness were a shining example for her family. She inspired her family with her kindness and deep love of God. She loved cooking, family gatherings, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and especially holding hands with the love of her life, Dan, as they shared time in their beautiful gardens enjoying the birds and their beautiful flowers.
A private service with family and friends will be held at a later date.
