Edith King Fussell's Obituary
Edith King Fussell, wife of the late Otha Fussell, was called by her savior on Monday September 10th, 2018. Edith was 98 years of age, a native and lifelong resident of Bush/Covington, LA. Edith was born September 29th, 1919, the daughter of Benjamin and Mamie Johnson King.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Welch (Hollis, Sr.), her sons, Kenneth Fussell (Cyndi), and Otha “Glenn” Fussell (Linda) and daughter Donna King Ratcliff (Terry). She is grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Hollis Welch, Jr. (Janell), Shannon Welch (Binky), Kollin Fussell, Kenda Fussell, Christopher Fussell (Brittany) and Alicia Fussell Hesson (Darrick) and is great-grandmother to Cameron Welch, Shanna Welch, Laiken Welch, Kinsley Fussell, Wyatt Fussell, Bennett Fussell, Grayson Fussell, Baby-Fussell to-be, Hadley Hesson, and Harper Hesson. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband Otha Fussell, her mother Mamie Johnson King and father Benjamin King, her brothers, Morgan King, Marvin King, Richard King, Carter King, Ellis King, and Otis King, her sisters Edna King and Eula King McLain and several nieces and nephews.
Edith was a blessing to all who knew her, and she cherished the many visits with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many wonderful friends whose life she touched during her 98 blessed years.
The Family would like to thank the health care providers of Good Samaritan Living Center, Community Care Hospice, St. Tammany Parish Hospital, and Excel Home Health (especially Whitney, Dixie, and Vera) who provided excellent care and support to our precious loved one.
All who knew, loved and were touched by the life of Edith are invited to a visitation at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Friday September 14th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday September 15th from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Burial will follow at Sharp’s Chapel Church of God Cemetery, 22191 Sharp Chapel Road, Bush, La.
