Earl William Ruth Jr.'s Obituary
Earl William Ruth, Jr., a veteran of the U S Navy who proudly served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the age of 87. He was the beloved companion of Jackie Bosch for the past 27 years and was previously married for 32 years to the late Yvonne Dufresne Ruth.
Mr. Ruth was the loving father of Mark Ruth (Claudia), Lauren Foret (Jim) and Aileen Ruth. He was the proud grandfather of Mark Foret, Jr. (Misti), Brandon Foret (Jared), Grace Weimer (Zach) and Jacob Ruth. He cherished his three great-granddaughters, Sawyer Ann Foret, Bexley Jo Foret and Manon Ruth Weimer, and also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl William Ruth, Sr. and Rosalie Rumore Ruth, his brother, Gerard Ruth, Sr. and his son-in-law, Mark Foret, Sr.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gatherer of friends. He was a top-notch mechanic who could repair, enhance or invent anything you needed, but most importantly, he was always there, always available and always willing to help.
Earl was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St Bernard Parish and spent the last 27 years in Covington, LA. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a loving son, husband, father, companion, grandfather and friend.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Dismissal will be at 11:00 am and the Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm at St Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette, LA.
