Dorris Kaiser Smith's Obituary
Dorris Kaiser Smith passed away at 1:35 PM , February 16 th of a massive stroke. She was in the presence of her entire loving family. Beloved wife of 59 years of James A. Smith. Daughter of the late Bernard Elmo Kaiser and Vera Kaiser. Mother of James Dodd Smith, Sharon Smith O’Meallie and Desiree Smith Arseneaux. Preceded in death by 3 sisters, Vera Kaiser, Katie Richard and Margaret Webster. Survived by a brother, Bernard Kaiser, Jr., 5 sisters, Lillie Yeager, Laura Barreca, Jo Ann French, Patsy Lynch and Eileen Dalier, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith lived in Casablanca, Morocco for several years and studied cosmetology procedures at leading Paris, France institutions. She was a flight attendant for Capitol Airlines and a successful business woman who owned a local beauty salon for forty years. At one time she was a confidential secretary to the late Governor Richard Leche. She served as an officer in the American Legion and VFW ladies Auxiliary. She will be sadly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to attend the services. Visitation at E. J. Fieldings, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA on Saturday, February 18, 2006 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM followed by religious services at the funeral home chapel at 2:00PM. Burial in Pinecrest Cemetery immediately following the services.
