Dorothy Fresh Gennaro Blakesley on Monday, December 31, 2007.
She was the wife of the late Emile Anthony Gennaro for 10 years. Two daughters survive her from that union: Marilyn Gennaro Mayeaux and Camille Gennaro Bruce (Phillip). She was later married to Walter P. Blakesley for 27 years before his passing. She is also survived by one grandson, Carl P. Mayeaux. She was preceded in death by eight brothers: Joseph, Harold, Ronald, Howard, Russell, Chester, Forrest and Leonard Fresh; and three sisters: Stella Fresh, Florence F. Arceneaux and Ruth F. Wrigley.
Aged 92 years, Dorothy was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie for almost 60 years. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church, Past President and Secretary/Treasurer of the Cleary Golden Age Club and a member of the Metairie Council on Aging, Jefferson Parish Ceramics Club at Metairie Playground and the Women’s International Bowling Congress.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 12:00 PM from St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division Street, Metairie, LA 70001.
Visitation AT THE CHURCH will begin Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow mass at Garden of Memories.
