Dorothy "Dot" Ann Wall's Obituary
Dorothy Ann Massey Wall passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 16th, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Karol Nelson Wall for 40 years. Loving mother of Leigh Anne Wall, Valerie Jean Sikora and Nancy Elizabeth Wall. Loving mother-in-law of Jeffrey Alan Sikora. Loving grandmother of Kelly Nicole Sikora and William Karol Sikora. Sister of Gladys June Frueh and the late Alma Scates and Emma Smith Overton. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Dot was born on May 26, 1933 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to the late Theodore and Freda Massey. She was a current member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mandeville, Louisiana and a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, Ohio where she served two terms as the first female president of the congregation. Dot loved traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends and most of all, running. She ran 5 marathons after the age of 65, including the New York City Marathon at the age of 75. She was active for more than 30 years with Playmakers Civic Theater and she was deeply devoted to serving her community through many organizations. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St., Port Clinton, OH, on October 24th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St, Port Clinton, OH, on October 25th, 2014 at 11am with burial at Riverview Cemetery immediately following the service. A memorial service will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mandeville, LA at a later date. In lieu of the usual remembrances, please make contributions to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Playmakers Civic Theater, P. O.
