Doris Bennett Spell's Obituary
Doris Bennett Spell passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025 in Covington, LA. She was 91.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melton Taylor, her second husband, Walter “Bubba” Spell, her daughter, Barbara Taylor and her parents, John Mack Bennett and Thelma Martha Bennett.
She is survived by her children, Jimmie Kay Taylor, Sandra Taylor and Johnny Taylor, also survived by her grandchildren, Christopher Merrick and Michael Taylor and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her special friends and caregivers, Julius Miller, Tammy Smith, Gavin Smith, Dylan Smith and Evan and Kelsey Huff and her dear friends, Marie Parker and Pamela Cantwell.
Doris was a native and lifelong resident of Covington, LA and was a longtime member of Collins Blvd Baptist Church.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Collins Blvd Baptist Church, 1501 N Collins Blvd, Covington, LA at 2:00 pm and friends may visit after 1:00 pm until service time at the church. Interment will follow in Garden of Pines Cemetery in Covington, LA.
