I've been a Realtor here at Uncle Doug's office for 14 years. Ms. Doris took her job very seriously and was always very professional. She also was a very sweet and thoughtful Lady. Probably twice a year when I would come into the office in the morning and got through the hall and into my office, the very first thing I'd see was the ribbon. It would be decoratively tied around a small gift of some sort. You know; candy, a pen, or something like that.
Recently I had throat cancer and now my sinuses are almost always active. Ms. Doris would see me constantly carrying around a bath cloth. Well, on 2 different occasions the last six months, I've walked in and saw the pretty red ribbon tied around a dozen new bath cloths, all folded and stacked neatly inside the ribbon. I never wondered even once who was making these loving gestures for Mac. Even when I saw the very first gift that was put on my desk, I put down my briefcase, turned and walked straight to Doris's office, thanked her, and gave her a big hug. She would just smile sweetly and say, "Oh, that wasn't much; but you're very welcome." Doris was a woman that EACH & EVERY person here at this office could count on for anything at anytime. There just aren't many people you can say that about!
I was sitting in my chair about ready to come to the office Wednesday morning when I got the news of her passing. I looked down, and on my knee was one of the cloths that She had bought me recently. I took it up, but to my eyes this time. I Love you Ms. Doris and will miss you dearly.
