Pastor and Family: I will never forget how you opened your hearts and home to me when I first arrived in NO. You certainly were a God-send. Your were my first family here and I will always appreciate that. Pat will be remembered for her warmth, and those wonderful Christmas Cantatas. Her beautiful voice is now singing with the angels above. May God comfort you all and know that "The Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want".
Love in Christ, Merle
Our thoughts & prayers are with each of you. I can remember the first time I heard Pat sing in church, such a beautiful voice. She was also a great Avon lady, and a wonderful bowler. Pat was a bautiful person to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.

We offer our condolences to your family. Dad and Emelda were close to you in Harahan. Pat is finally at home with the Lord.
Pat was always a good, kind, christian friend to us. We will miss her.
Dear Nelsen Family, We only met Pat 5 years ago but we were always inspired by her. We loved it when you played her songs. You are to all be commended for the love and care you showed to her during her convalescing. Pastor, you especially were always such a devoted husband. That did not go unnoticed by us and many more. God is blessing her right now with a new body and we will certainly meet her again in Heaven.
My condolences go out to the entire Nelsen Family. Mrs. Nelsen will be sorely missed, but as the family knows, she is in a far better place. I had the privilege of getting to know Mrs. Nelsen the 3 1/2 years I served at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mandeville, and have many fond memories of her. +Pastor B
So sorry to hear of the death of Pat, someone I've known so long but haven't seen in many years. The Nelsens have been a part of my life going back to my dad's friendship with Pastor Nelsen, so losing a member of the Nelsen family is kinda' like losing a member of my own family.
We know that she is now dead to this world of sin but alive in the everlasting Kingdom of God!!!! We have that blessed hope of a joyful reunion in heaven when it becomes our turn to depart this life so, while there is a time for grief (and rightfully so) it will be followed by the peace that surpasses all understanding granted by God our Father as we REALLY come to the understanding that Pat is resting in the arms of the Lord!!!!
Peace and blessings in this time of mourning.
