Doris Chauvin Brignac, at the age of 88, entered eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday evening, April 25, 2023, at her family home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lutcher, Louisiana, on July 16, 1934, to William Joseph Chauvin Sr. and Gussie Bourque Chauvin.
She is survived by her adoring husband Roy F. Brignac of 69 years, her adoring children Gail Brignac Reynolds (Ted), Lisa Brignac Rebstock (Allen), and Bryan P. Brignac (Christine). Doris was the proud grandmother of Chelsie Brignac Soler (Alfredo), Kara Reynolds (Vivian “Dizzy”), Jolie Anna Brignac, Kimberly Reynolds Hale (Brandon), and Jess Rebstock (Liz), and great grandmother of Camila Soler, Lucas Soler, and Justin Melancon. She was a caring sibling of Gary Chauvin (Herminie). Doris will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her son Daniel Brignac, her parents William and Gussie Chauvin, and siblings Wilbert Chauvin, William Chauvin (Dot), Betty Chauvin, Alfred Chauvin (Mildred), Daisy Chauvin Clouatre (Andrew), and Bernice Chauvin Canatella (Nick), and her darling granddaughter Brandi Rebstock Melancon.
A native of Convent, and proud resident of Abita Springs for over 23 years, Doris graduated from Romeville High School, in Convent, Louisiana. She married the love of her life Roy F. Brignac on December 18, 1954, and she embraced her role as a proud homemaker with love and laughter. Doris was dedicated to her Catholic faith, and active member to St. Jane de Chantel of Abita Springs.
Doris was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She enjoyed spending time with her flowers and pets. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family and pets. Doris was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kind spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
