Donnie Dewitt Panarello Sr.'s Obituary
Donnie Dewitt Panarello, Sr., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the age of 57, in St. Bernard Parish LA. Donnie was born in Amarillo, Texas and at the age of 11 moved with his family to New Orleans, LA. While living in Louisiana he worked and had many accomplishments as a chef at K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen, including having the honor of cooking for President Ronald Reagan and first lady Nancy Reagan. In his later years he became a longshoreman and prided himself in mastering his craft, and becoming one of the hardest working men on the river. In his free time some of his passions were spending time and cooking with family, riding his Harley, fishing on the river, cruising in his corvette for the ladies and finding and collecting very unique pieces of art.
Donnie is survived by his son Donnie Panarello, Jr. and his daughter Dionne and her husband Johnny LeBlue, his brothers David Panarello and Robert and his wife Phyllis Herring, his grandchildren Dylan Panarello, Acadia Leblue, Lola Leblue and Arsene LeBlue, nephew Mathew Panarello and nieces Gabrielle Panarello and Kimi Herring. Donnie was loved by many extended family and friends, including many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Paula Panarello and Donald LeBlanc and son Jonathan Panarello.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at Sharp’s Chapel Church of God, 22191 Sharp’s Chapel Road, Bush, LA 70431 on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Visitation beginning Saturday at 9:00 AM at the church.
Interment will follow at Sharp’s Chapel Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Panarello to be made to the SPCA, on behalf of his most loyal and loving dog Harley.
