Donna Cripps Hages' Obituary
Donna Cripps Hages of Covington, LA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was 86 years old. She was born on March 3, 1933 in Lansing, MI to the late Everett Cripps and Katherine V. (Bolam) Cripps. She was a graduate of Central High School in Bay City, Michigan.
Donna’s first love was her family and she was so proud of them. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years Richard Joseph Hages, Sr.; her children Dr. Richard J. Hages, Jr. (Cheryl), Gregory M. Hages (Gloria), Jeffery L. Hages (Cynthia) and John S. Hages (Heidi); and her 7 grandchildren Lara Hages Bryant, Nicole Hages Hammett, Richard J. Hages, III, E6 Operations Specialist First Class Bradley Atkinson, Stephanie Hages, Dr. Charles Hages and Jack Hages. She is also survived by 2 great-granddaughters.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lawrence Cripps, her sister Dorothy Cripps Rapson and her granddaughter Sabrina Atkinson.
Donna’s love of God played a key role in her life. She was an active member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church since 1988 and was recognized as a Steward of the Month in May of 2012 for being “an extraordinary Lay Minister of Holy Communion.” She also loved teaching CCD classes.
In addition to her involvement in church, Donna was an active member of the Ladies Leukemia League of the Gulf South Region, enjoyed cooking, entertaining, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and her many new friends at The Trace. She was always accepting and encouraging and had a strength most people do not have.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at noon and lasting until the time of service. Interment will follow the services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington.
