Donna Maria Gorrondona Lopez's Obituary
Donna Gorrondona Lopez passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis for 16 years.
Beloved wife of Mike Lopez. Mother of James C. Lopez. Sister of Eileen Gorrondona Foster, Wayne J. Gorrondona (Karen) and the late Joseph C. Gorrondona, Jr. Daughter of the late Joseph C. and Dorothy Guidry Gorrondona. Daughter-in-law of Consuelo Lopez Spittler and the late Angelo Lopez. Sister-in-law of Elizabeth Vail (Mike). Aunt of Sarah Joy and Samantha Foster, Austin and Ethan Vail and Joseph Gorrondona.
She was Co-President of Fontainebleau High School PTA and a member of Project Graduation of Fontainebleau High School. She was formerly employed by the Wembley Tie Co. and Silent Partner Body Armor. She was a veracious reader and was an avid baseball fan, LSU athletics and N.O. Saints football fan. Her greatest passion was watching her son play baseball.
Age 52 years. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Abita Springs, LA for the past 9 years.
Relatives, friends of the family and alumni of Mt. Carmel Academy Class of 1978 are invited to attend the funeral mass from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Visitation on Wednesday from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 12:00 PM until service time. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the LA Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.mslouisiana.org).
