Donald Rimsnider's Obituary
Donald O. “Mr. Don” Rimsnider passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012.
Beloved brother of Blanche Hundley. Uncle of Jan Darrow, Jill Darrow and the late Kim Darrow. Son of the late Orin and Ora Rimsnider.
Age 76 years. A native of Hinckley, IL and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 15 years. He was raised on the family farm 3 miles west and north of Hinckley, IL. He attended elementary and secondary schools in Hinckley. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, band and choral groups. He was baptized and confirmed and remained a lifetime member of St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church in Hinckley now St. Paul United Church of Christ. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1954-1959, receiving Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in geology in the School of Liberal Arts and Science.
He was employed by Standard Oil Company (later Chevron) in Jackson, MS for five years, then in New Orleans for twenty years before retiring in 1984. His favorite pastimes were listening to Classical music and watching all sports.
