Donald Nolan “Don” Lichtfuss, age 42, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. He was born on May 29, 1982, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Linda Christine “Chris” Payne; mother, Barbara Jean Lancaster Lichtfuss; sister, Ruth Willis (Mike); nephew, Jimmy; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Patrick Lichtfuss.
Those who knew Don are aware of his complicated journey throughout his life, but also his unwavering faith, his wicked sense of humor, and his compassion. He loved animals of all kinds, especially his childhood dog Dutch, and, later, he and Chris’ dogs Calliope and Boo. Don was also an aspiring writer who could be found with a pen and notebook wherever he went. Don will be sadly missed but will live in our hearts forever.
“Walk me to the corner our steps will always rhyme. You know my love goes with you as your love stays with me.”
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don’s memory may be made to Bridge House/Grace House of New Orleans.
A private celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.
