Donald Joseph Glockner Sr.'s Obituary
Donald Joseph Glockner, Sr., passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He was born in Mandeville, Louisiana, on January 23, 1941.
Donald spent his life rooted in the Mandeville community where he grew up and built a life defined by independence, hard work, and devotion to family. At an early age, he started his own air conditioning and heating business, demonstrating the determination and self-reliance that would characterize him throughout his life.
He was an avid fisherman and a skilled marksman who found great enjoyment in the outdoors. Known for his quiet nature and stubborn resolve, traits he carried with him until his final day.
He is survived by his children, Julie Glockner Gonzales (Gregory) and Donald Glockner, Jr. (Stefanie); his grandchildren, Gregory Patrick Gonzales II, Stephen Matthew Gonzales, and Thomas Michael Glockner; and his siblings, Mildred Wager and Melba Wager.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Stonicher Glockner; his parents, Jeanne Victoria Knox Glockner and Eugene Charles Glockner; and his siblings, Eugene Glockner Sr., Eugenie Glockner, and Edward Glockner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11 AM, with visitation from 9 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow in Mandeville Cemetery.
